Medi-Cal Beneficiaries Scam
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Medi-Cal Eligibility Division has been alerted of text messages and phone calls Medi-Cal members are receiving attempting to charge them to complete their Medi-Cal annual renewal.
DHCS has received reports nationwide, and in California, that scammers and bad actors contact Medi-Cal members and require a fee to apply for or renew their Medi-Cal.
It is imperative that our Medi-Cal members know what messages from the county, state, and community partners are legitimate and understand that Medi-Cal will never require payment in the application or renewal process.
